‘Plus-Size’ Model Treat: Amanda Dougherty for Elena Miro
Since many of you enjoyed the post (and the clothes) on Elena Miro’s plus-size fashion show, here’s another oh-so-’plus’ treat for you: W Curve model Amanda Dougherty is the face (and the body) of the new spring 2011 collection. Here are some quotes from Amanda:
What happened to you when you first got into this business? I ended up getting really sick. I became obsessed with losing weight. I was thin but it was never thin enough and I just wasn’t enjoying it. I was being told I was too big by people who didn’t even care about me. I wasn’t happy so my parents sort of said, “That’s it.”
Are you happy with your figure now? I’m very happy with my size right now. There’s pressure to get bigger [as a plus size model], but I’m just going to be who I am.
