    Showing off that gorgeous smile as she headed into work, Cheryl Cole was spotted arriving at Chicago's Sears Convention Center to judge "X-Factor" auditions earlier today (May 19).

    The former "Girls Aloud" singer waved to her Windy City fans as she geared up for another stop on her new gig's tour, wearing a black and white polka-dot mini dress and black high heels.


    In related news, recently announced "X Factor" host Steve Jones has further fueled rumors of a budding romance with Cheryl since gushing about her to the press, telling, "I just love her. She’s one amazing woman. She is just so patient and committed to her work.”

    The supposed spark between the two is so strong that boss Simon Cowell has reportedly been doing whatever he can to keep them apart, even drawing up a contract to keep Jones from dating any of his on-air colleagues.

    Adding a dose of “wow” factor, Cheryl Cole arrived on the Cannes International Film Festival red carpet today (May 13) for the premiere of “Habemus Papam.”

    The “Parachutes” singer donned a plunging white dress and pulled-back hairdo as she paraded around the Palais des Festivals for all to see.


    Later this year Cheryl will be coming to the States with her new gig on the American version of Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor.”

    She told press, “I'm hoping people are going to embrace it. I'm not worried (about my accent). It's going to be interesting. I hear a lot of accents here too. I'm sure there will be words or phases where people are like, excuse me?”

    Cheryl Cole Confirmed for 'The X Factor (US)'
    Cheryl Cole has been confirmed as a judge for 'The X Factor (US)', joining Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the judging panel.
     
    Cheryl Cole has officially been confirmed as a judge for "The X Factor (US)".

    Following months of speculation, it has now been announced the British singer will join Simon Cowell and record executive L.A. Reid on the judging panel of the show and she says she can't wait to get to work.

    The 27-year-old beauty - who has been a judge on "The X Factor" since 2008, mentoring the winning act in her first two series - said, "I'm so excited to be taking part in the American version of 'The X Factor'."

    "I absolutely love it here in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I'm sure we're going to find someone very special. I can't wait to get started."

    "I just can't decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me."

    "He's tried to beat me for three years in the UK, and hasn't even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this."

    Simon - who, along with Cheryl, has quit the UK show - said, "I'm thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat! Most importantly, this girl can spot talent."

    Cheryl impressed executives at Fox with her performances on the UK version and they are sure she will be a hit with American audiences.

    Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment and Fox, said, "Cheryl Cole has the whole 'X Factor' package. She's an incredibly talented artist and performer, as well as a style icon, and she has that special charisma that draws in fans around the world."

    "Cheryl's charm and chemistry with Simon have been a key part of the overwhelming success of 'The X Factor' in the UK, and we can't wait to welcome her to the US on our air."

    Although the fourth member of the judging panel is yet to be confirmed, it is widely predicted it will be Simon's former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul.
